“Darci Miland is a phenomenal, energetic speaker. She is very professional in dealing with sensitive subjects that most people tend to shy away from and really make an audience not only want to listen but be engaged. Darci expands on mental health subjects compassionately and thoroughly while defining technical terms to make mental health solutions approachable. She holds an audience’s attention throughout the presentation and adds humor to lighten the room when a topic becomes heavy. The presentations she created for our Wellness Program at the City of Moses Lake were the most highly reviewed programs that we have had for our employees; she made people smile with her manner of conveying these difficult subjects and feel safe to discuss mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. One comment from an evaluation, ‘I wanted to give Ms. Miland a hug afterwards!”

“Darci came to speak to our employees in October 2015. At that time our company was transitioning from an older group to a much younger group. For many years I was one of the youngest employees there, but by the time of this meeting, I was one of its oldest. Like most transitioners, I needed to understand what my role would be in its future, if any. I knew the best way was to be able to connect to that future with those who are working in it. Darci began to share the differences between men and women in the work place today as opposed to yesteryear and how that translates to how the work environment operates today. She included all the unique challenges each age group goes through to become productive in today’s labor forces. A good speaker can bridge the gap between genders and age through one voice, which is a gift. I came away from that meeting knowing what a younger co-worker goes through and they gain insights about our struggles in this modern day of the work place. It also gave me some tools to better help my older children and understand a little more of their point of view on things.

On a personal note, I am a cancer survivor who by default now cherishes the life I have been given and those that are living in it. Recovering from long painful treatments is very much a daily struggle full of hard challenges and being able to deal with those challenges. Darci gave me a few tips and a way to connect with others using today’s technologies and social media’s, that is how I became a fan. I would recommend Darci to come and speak to your company regarding the current challenges that all company’s face. With all the mixed generations that now exist in the workforce; you need someone who can relate to that mixture of people. Darci can give you a better understanding and a few social tools to use that will smooth out the rough edges of misconceptions and perceptions that occur in our work environments today. A good grasp of the personalities in the work force today, means a much more productive group that can focus to the future rather than one that is simply trying to survive.”
